The Weekly Grin

This past week, we’ve been working through our pantry and freezer just as per the usual! The focus has been hyper vigilant on making sure there’s no waste, and also re-using items multiple times for various foods. What are some of the things we’ve been eating? Take a look after the break:

  • Preserved Mangoes

What did we already have available? What else did we prepare?

  • Frozen Corn
    • Was grilled on high heat and kept in the fridge for burger toppings and for the corn cakes
  • Pre-prepared Beet Burgers in the freezer
  • Spaghetti noodles from our pantry
  • Sourdough Artisanal Bread/Dough that my husband makes
    • Used in the french toast, and the pizza dough
  • Frozen Tilapia
  • Tortillas
  • Burger Buns
  • Various Condiments
  • Cabbage and Sauerkraut
  • Tomato Sauce

 


What have we prepared for the future?

  • Fried all of the chicken thighs from the packet. They were then packed in food saver bags and frozen. They are mostly cooked but upon thawing, will be double fried to be nice, crispy, and fully cooked!
  • We have one additional large jar of tomato sauce that will be available for later on
